Saint James

Trevor Otis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Otis of Montgomery, entered 188金宝搏官网app下载 in ninth grade and has left an indelible mark – well in advance of his graduation. Through his years as a Saint James student, Trevor has embraced all the school offered as demonstrated by the many leadership positions he has held, his array of extracurricular activities, and his exceptional academic record. Serving as president of the Speech & Debate team, a student ambassador, a member of the marching band, and a member of the math team, Trevor’s schedule keeps him quite busy. When asked what advice he would give to a rising high school student, he said, “…ask lots of questions, speak up for what you believe in, don’t hold yourself back—do silly things with your friends, and don’t preoccupy yourself with what other people think of you.”

As a member of several honor societies including National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, French Honor Society, and Tri-M, Trevor embodies the foundation of a Saint James education—educating the whole child. Trevor shared, “My favorite part of the day is my AP Literature class. I love reading and discussing literature, and I enjoy the class focus on analysis and argumentation. I also enjoy my role in the marching band. I like the feeling of working towards a common goal as a part of a group larger than myself. And I am very appreciative of my role as president of the Speech & Debate Team. Speech has allowed me to find my own voice and has given me the confidence to express that voice.” When asked what his plans are for the future, Trevor said he would love to take all he has gained at Saint James and attend Rice University in Houston, Texas, “They foster an incredible sense of community and collaboration through their residential college system, they have high student quality of life, and they offer stellar academics in a vibrant urban environment.”
